Steve Wisthoff was honored with a Kiwanian of the Year certificate at the June 3rd meeting. President Kathy Cue, wanted to recognize his years of service leadership to our club and foundation. It was his last meeting before he moved to Georgia/Tennessee to retire and help care for his wife's aging parents. Steve joined Kiwanis while living in North Dakota, and joined Capital City after his ministry position brought him to Lincoln. As a member of Capital City he served as President a couple of times, Lt Governor, and was always an eager committee leader or member. He supported our club and foundation in many ways and intends to continue being a Kiwanian at a club in his new location! But we will miss his leadership in our club!

NEW FOOD FORT BUS
Sandy Scheinost & Lori Teaford from Capital City and several members of Southeast Kiwanis clubs presented a check for $5000 to Mason Kiem, Food Fort Fundraising Director on June 6th. The donation was made possible thanks to the grant awarded to the clubs from the NE-IA Kiwanis District Foundation. Both clubs have supported the Food Fort and its mission since its beginning about 8 years ago. They have now been able to purchase a new bus (pictured above) to replace the current one (pictured below). The new bus is larger, has installed heat & air, and easier to drive. The inside is getting re-fitted to their needs and will be given a unique FOOD FORT paint job!

This year our Foundation received $1223.60 in individual donations and a share of the matching funds. Thank you to all who donated!
