The 2025 Sewing for Babies Fabric Drive got off to a terrific start at CCK's January 21 meeting.
CCK members were big-hearted in their monetary donations to help Sewing for Babies purchase knit material to make their own infant caps, and lots of socks filled the basket as well. Additional donations to The Sewing for Babies drive will be gratefully accepted at CCK's February 4 and February 18 meetings. K-KIDS JANUARY ACTIVITIES
During the Pyrtle K-Kids meeting on Tuesday, January 17, the students fringed 45 fleece scarves. The scarves will be donated to a local outreach program. They also decorated about 20 MOW bags and started discussions for a spring fund raiser.
JANUARY KEY CLUB ACTIVITIES
January was a short month for Key Club activities. Officers held a planning meeting on January 6. With Martin Luther King Day on January 20, meetings were held on January 13 and January 27. Members made a total of 14 blankets during those two meetings. At the January 27 meeting, we took a few minutes to form a large circle and have members introduce themselves and share why they joined Key Club.
Other activities: Continued the weekly organization of Spartan Village.
Purchased additional fleece for blankets with grant money on January 15 (see picture)
Played Bingo at the Legacy with residents on January 18.
Four members participated with East High’s 8th Grade Night on January 22.
Six members helped serve at Peoples City Mission on January 25.
Six members cut purchased fleece into blanket sized projects on January 30.
Even though January was a short month, our members managed to get a lot accomplished.
